Tips to Survive Last Minute Holiday Events

The holidays are right around the corner... are you ready? If not, it's not too late. Here are a few tips to get your holiday party plans in place just in time to make the most of the holidays.

Plan around key dates.

Create a plan around key dates. You don't want to plan your party and then find out later that there was a competing event or major holiday taking place at the same time.

  • November 24th - Black Friday

  • November 25th - Small Business Saturday

  • November 27th - Cyber Monday

  • November 28th - Giving Tuesday

  • December 12th to 20th - Hanukkah

  • December 25th - Christmas

  • January 1st - New Year's Day

  • Other important dates for your business and community

Set a budget.

Before committing to a venue, entertainment, and food & beverage, it's important to know how much money you have to spend. Remember, last minute expenses always seem to pop up so build in a cushion.

Decide on the type of event.

When organizing an event, don't forget to decide on the theme of the event. For example, is it a corporate event, an ugly sweater party, or an elegant holiday soirée?

Iron out the details.

Once you have a theme you can then choose your decor, food, drinks, and other details according to the theme. The details can really make your event very memorable and Instagram worthy.

Spread the word.

It's important to get the word out about your event as soon as possible. If you don't have all of the details ironed out yet, that's okay, but at least send a save the date. Make sure to include the date, time, venue, request for any special dietary requirements, and a method to RSVP in your invitations. If it's a public event, make sure to post it on all of your social media channels and website too. Don't forget to send out a reminder a few days before the event and also on the day of with any last minute details, such as parking.

SO, GET THOSE PLANS IN PLACE AND HAVE A FUN HOLIDAY SEASON. TILL NEXT TIME... :)
